Just A Guy

The darkened road is endless
As it passes through each new town
I pray that I might see you
Please don't let me down
But there is a reason for everything
Except what love is for
Last night I knew we were breaking up
I've been through this before

If I had listened to my parents and friends
You wouldn't have known I cared
But something forced me to ask you out
It was stronger then what I feared
But my fears are thus coming back to me
For what one fears will never die
In my opinion you broke my heart
To you, I'm just a guy

But you may feel that I'm lying to you
Or you simply won't understand
That you are the girl that I once loved
I wanted to hold your hand
